It will get a U.S. release on 11 June from, somewhat strangely, Metropolis Records. I take that as a sign it will be very electronic-sounding.

A bit belated - the album debuted at its #5 peak in the UK charts which is fantastic achievement! Her best chart placing since 1987's "Raindancing" which got to #2. Well done, Alison! [:)]

I saw Alison at a warm up gig in London last month showcasing the album
It's excellent, very electronic, she even did a few Yazoo at end! (no Only You however)

Alison said during the gig that the gap between albums was due to labels only being interested in her doing Covers albums.
I wonder if this also explains her first two solo album reissues being pulled??

Wouldn't have known 'bout that really at all. Unfortunately. But labels being interested in her doing Covers album speaks a lot about themselves, doesn't it?

Yes it does, record labels just can't fathom how to market artists who aren't going to shift millions.
Sad state of affairs isn't it

As a longtime Alison fan, I am frankly really disappointed about the new album.
Sure, the production, contemporary sound and all the technical stuff seems top notch, but the VOICE and the MELODIES simply aren`t there anymore.
I loved her solo throughout the 80s, up to (and including) Hoodoo, but after that, the solo work didnt quite use her vocal abilities nearly as well as it could have.
She produced a marvellous album with Voice, which showed what she could do, if she wanted do (and I dont mean just cover versions).
Anyway, I am glad that the reviews are quite good for The Minutes and she is getting the well deserved recognition once again in her career, but I just wish it would have all gone another way for her since the end of the 80s.
I guess its simply not what she wanted and in the end, thats all that counts.
