Just received the full 24 BIT Master of this amazing mix from Bronski Beat's "Hit That Perfect Beat". To our knowledge never released on cd anywhere officially before. The quality is really mindblowing!
This was the first record after Jimmy Sommerville left the band and the energy of this song is just great. This fantastic mix was done by non other than Ian Levine and is a real standout masterpiece. We are proud to present it the upcoming "so8os [so eighties] Volume 8" out on may 3rd. Pre Order now!

So far, I've heard there's going to be a rare mix of Bronski Beat's "Hit That Perfect Beat".

Hey Sean!
Yeah, I played that mix today a few times from that link on YouTube, and I'll admit - I really like the remix a lot! It's a great extended remix!!

My experience with these compilations is that they're mind-blowingly loud...really noticeable on the iPod and headphones...hopefully they address it this time?

Anybody know which mix is it?
12” Instant Mix / Remix: Ian Levine 8:31
12” Instant Dub / Remix: Ian Levine 7:13
I have in total four mixes of Hit That Perfect Beat on vinyl. These are the other two mixes:
12” Metropolitan Version / Remix: Mike Thorne 6:47
12” Extended Version 6:27
The extended version is included as a bonus track on the cd version of the second Bronski Beat album. As far as I know this version/mix is the only one available on cd so far. Is that right?

They seem to be releasing the tracklist one by one:
Hello so8os lovers…it's getting hot in our kitchen…finalising the new so8os 8 3xCD release and this fantastic Michael Cretu track will have it's world premiere as 12" Version on CD! "Gambit" is really a hidden treasure and we are so proud to have on the new CD Box in full Original Master Tape Quality!

Also mentioned for inclusion are George Michael's 'I Want Your Sex' (Monogamy Mix (13:12), and just announced, Micheal Cretu's 'Gambit' (Extended Mix) (8:05).
Although I'm weary of the "true so8os quality" by Blank & Jones (why do they feel the need to brickwall and boost the loudness and thus lose the dynamic range of the original 24-bit masters?), but I am curious as to what the final tracklist will include.

They're suggesting it's the Ian Levine Instant Mix on this new so80s. This version was already on the "Hit That Perfect Beat Vol. 2" compilation.

The only thing is that the tracks on that compilation are segued into each other, but that's easy enough to take care of in this case. It's more problematic for the ending of the previous track, 'One Thing Leads To Another' by the Fixx which is taken care of by having it on the remastered 'Reach The Beach".

Although that's a great mix of "Hit That Perfect Beat", I wish they would use the Metropolitan mix or even the Dub mix, just something we don't have. I always wonder why they just don't do a search to see if something has already been released. It's not that hard to do on the net these days.

'To our knowledge never released on cd anywhere officially before'... Is this definitely not true then? I guess it's not gonna be the dub mix on this compilation. Lol there's two posts on here stating previously mentioned tracks on this compilation. It seems people aren't reading properly. Quick link for those who need it...
