Sparks "Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat" Remaster

Sparks "Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat" Remaster

Just received this in the mail. It's on Repertoire and is nicely remastered. A little loud but not as bad as some of the other stuff out there. Overall pretty good. Five ext. remixes as bonus tracks .

Are the bonus tracks from vinyl though? The last 12" compilation Repertoire put out, many of the tracks were clearly from vinyl. Easiest way to tell is usually cranking the volume during the last few seconds of a track and you can hear either rumble from the turntable or crackles and pops from the vinyl. Or the high end signal (cymbals and hi-hats, or the "S" sounds of the vocalist) tend to degrade near the end of a track compared to the beginning.

Repertoire actually seems to prefer mastering from vinyl. At least "rare" tracks, but sometimes also entire albums. Not sure why, but it seems to be standard for them. The credits in the CD booklet usually gives the vinyl cat no it was taken from. Having said this, at least recently the sound quality has been very good nevertheless. /JW

Yes, the bonus tracks are vinyl sourced.
