What a laughable affair! Almost half of the bands featured has little to no relation to Synthpop - is this a joke? The only one bright spot is the inclusion of previously neglected Vicious Pink (though not with their best track) - all of the others are already featured miltiple times or not Synthpop at all. And why is it that they always include the least synthy-sounding ones from Synthpop guys?

Oh well, it's just a simple cash-in release, I suppose, and not something of an important release, so no sense in complaining.

I wish they would bring out a compilation without rehashing the same mixes that have been on a hundred compilations before and yes to call the vast majority of artists on this synthpop is a complete joke.

Is it ever possible? Always the same .... Always the same.... With a full catalogue of 12" versions never or rare on cd, they choose always the same tracks.... The right title for this compilation is "Ever on cd before"!!!

Skip.

I bought the 80's dance CD in this series and the sound was very good. The repeated EMI CDs with a lot of these tracks on are fairly average for sound. The clincher for the is Just What I Always Wanted 12" on CD - first time this has happened?

Hmm, yeah, there's some others in this series:

House

90s Club

I agree with you "7version12mix" always the same song.
They're afraid to edit the 12 "rare version?
Why not edit 12 "version 50% (bananrama, a-ha, ....) 50% cd rare (I Don't Wanna Get Hurt (Extended Version), Una Storia Importante, Weak In The Presence Of Beauty...).

You have the email address Emi ?

I agree with Dave - this must be the first time the 12" version of Just What I Always Wanted has appeared on CD and the only thing the compilation has going for it.

Never heard of Laid Back and the song didn't chart here. Would check to see what else on this did nothing but can't he bothered.

Emi records is now part of Universal music and part of Parlophone (controlled by Warner). So there are different address: umusic.co.uk, parlophone.co.uk and virginemirecords.com. Anyway major labels reserve their rare or unreleased on cd 12" mixes for their deluxe editions and not for these cheap compilations, or indipendent labels such as edsel and cherryred ask to major labels to have the exclusive of the rare 12"mixes for their deluxe reissues.
