Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys have confirmed the 2CD deluxe reissue of their fifth studio album "Junk Culture" from 1984 in a recent BBC Radio 6 Music interview.
The album which peaked at #9 in the UK and #182 in the US and gave us four hit-singles - "Locomotion" (UK#5), "Talking Loud And Clear" (UK#11), "Tesla Girls" (UK#21), and "Never Turn Away" (UK#70) - will be reissued next year instead of previously announced November 25th of this year.
More info on the album's re-release to follow soon.

I'm glad they finally pick up the pace where they left off in march 2008 with Dazzle Ships. Really looking forward to this one.

Great news -- Listened to the interview link and enjoyed the clips of the early version of "White Trash" sounds like the deluxe version is going to have a lot of extra unreleased material. YeaH!!!

Indeed! Let's hope that the remaining catalog gets reissued, too. It is long overdue!

It's weird, I was never a fan of Junk Culture but loved Crush and The Pacific Age.

No tracklisting but Andy has already said the BBC In Concert show won't be on it. And I think it is unlikely you will see a remaster of Crush or Pacific Age as Andy hates these albums.

I really hope they get to the 1990s albums, especially Sugar Tax. Although it wouldn't make sense not to reissue Crush and The Pacific Age, even though they may not like the albums. It would've been nice to have 2-disc (or 2CD/DVD) editions of the first four albums but I doubt that'll happen now that they've been remastered. Sugar Tax imo is a classic OMD album and really deserves a nice 2CD reissue, as well as a remaster (there's something that's just not right about the original CD, and I can't pick it).

Can't wait for Junk Culture though! Been waiting for a reissue of this for quite some time now. I'm not a big fan of Crush and The Pacific Age, but Junk Culture, for me, has a really nice pop sound to it yet its not too poppy or over-commercial like the two after it.

There are also the 7" mixes - including I believe two different Never Turn Away ones (standard 7" and 7" picture disc mix)

Yes I forgot about those. I have added them now to the list above.
As far as I can tell, there are only two single versions that differ
from the album versions: Talking Loud and Clear & Tesla Girls, both
are shortened, aka edited. So really they are not different "mixes".
I have not seen any notes that "Never Turn Away" would be any different than
the 3.57 album version. Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough? Anyone? Thanks

You may be right about the standard 7" of NTA (it seems shorter than the album version to me) but the 7" pic disc is a different mix entirely from the standard 7", with a different ending and about 40 seconds longer...
