Interesting article on the Pet Shop Boys! They've put a lot out with the Further Listening, but sounds like there is lots more out there!

http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/ ... e-project/

'The Pet Shop Boys‘ Neil Tennant yesterday confirmed that a PSB “reissues project” is in the works.'

Tough to beat those "Further Listening" sets, with the informative booklets. I would rather they do CDs singles boxes. I don't need the album yet again.

I'd go for CD singles boxes, but there is a LOT to be released so that would be a VERY thorough and expensive adventure I guess ...

One advice: Leave B-sides alone. The Alternative and Format compilations were okay.

For me, I'd love to see the Further Listening sets continue (as well as the previous ones being reissued as well). The boxset seems to be a popular format now but personally I don't see the point in them. A simple 2CD/DVD edition is perfectly suitable for me. If they were to redo all of the studio albums again, I'd rather they left off the B-sides (except for the ones that aren't on Alternative or Format) and focus more on mixes/demos/unreleased tracks etc.

If they do them again i just hope they are not as loud as those Further Listening ones as they were brickwalled to hell. I hope they fix the error on Behaviour as well where Nervously overlaps with The End Of The World when it's not supposed to. They have a tons of mixes unreleased on CD so hopefully these will address it.

They could probably release cd singles boxsets just like the Depeche Mode ones.

Wow! That alone would be 4 discs? I'd go for it, if the sound quality was where it needed to be. I'm only interested in the first few albums. They were at their finest Please, Actually and Behavior.

sub totals
18 15 5 8 3 2 4 3 2 = 60 tracks

110 65 30 50 20 10 20 15 10 = 330min = 5hr30min

so if you are using 80 minute cd's, it would be about 4 cds worth, yes.

this doesn't include the full album either.

it would be better to just put them on all on 1 dvd - single layer 4.7 Gig, which fits about 470 minutes,
or about 8 hours worth of stereo audio.
--------------------------------------------------------
if you want to include disco stuff too...

This was my wish list:

Would love to see all of the 12″ singles from “Please” reissued either as slim line cd singles or cardboard sleeves cd singles in a box set with original 12″ artwork and all of the mixes of the tracks from the 12″.

Also would love if they official release the tracks off of Aurally 1, 2 and 3 as a complete box set. (They can even add more stuff)

Finally, a “Please” super deluxe edition with the entire album remastered, include all official mixes/remixes of tracks off the album as a second disc, include all the b-sides from the singles and their official mixes as a third disc, boot mixes and if there any tracks they recorded during that time that have never been released (they must have more and if they have partially complete songs, they can complete them now) as a fourth disc, and a finally a last disc with is a dvd of all the videos off the album and then as many tv performances as they can throw on there. They can technically do this for all of their albums.

why bother, they were already in good quality.
no point.

besides, those tracklistings were very hit and miss.
