It says in the comments that there is a defect on Disc 1--- and they are issuing replacements. I went to the Cleopatra website and could not find confirmation on this. I can say that the version of "Same Old Madness" is different than the Vinyl and the video version. I don't know where this was sourced from other than it sounds the same as the all keyboard version mp3 that was circulating on P2P sites. There is also misprinting on the cover as it gives Halloween and Nature of Love the same catalog # , and those tracks definitely had separate waxtrax releases.

Yeah well I gave it a listen and it is a total screw-up on Disc 1. Now I am a bit mad for a few reasons,
1. The Box set was so expensive --- this should have been well-curated and Quality and controlled *disc 1 was not- making the whole thing well---"suspect"
2. The Track "He is Angry" on the Cd is a mixed up amalgamation of the actual track "He is Angry" with "Nature of Outtakes" -- total screw up error. - must have never been listened to when submitted for pressing.
3. The track Where Are You At Now? on the CD is a shorter version of Nature of Love (Cruelty Mix) -- this has to be an error too - because I assumed it would be a raw or demo version of "Where You at Now" from Twitch
4. I feel Alain Jourgenson probably could care less about these errors and the material in general.
5. Why did not we not hear these tracks in the 80's? Some of these tracks that are not errors on Disc 1 ARE FANTASTIC.
The track "I'll do anything for you" recorded in 1984 has keyboard sounds like Depeche Mode's 1984 "Master and Servant"-- which was way ahead of the time then- WOW!! Ministry had the same formula nobody mixing pop and industrial in 84.
I'm guessing it was the Adrian Sherwood influence as you can definitely hear that influence on MOVE which is essentially the Gary Clail Tackhead track of the same name with Al lyrics. why did Ministry hold out on this stuff in the 80's I mean really.

Apparently 'Where are you at now' is not an error; it's apparently how the track is labeled on the demos Jourgensen sent them. It's 'Cruelty Mix B' (or 'A'? I forget) of 'Nature of Love', apparently, and the (mis?)labeling may explain why they accidentally put the same remix of 'Nature of Love' twice on the Twelve Inch Singles reissue.

I ordered my box through Cleopatra and I can't wait; I'm surprised the reviews are generally good...

I got a response from Cleopatra REC and followed their instructions and will be issuing me a replacement for Disc 1 probably next week when they receive the shipment. Will update when I have the fixed one.

It's too bad that Jourgensen wasn't able to provide them a better copy for some of the demo tracks. My favourite is "Wait", which I'd pay $20 just for that one song. The sound quality of the demo on that boxset sounds like it was recorded on a cassette player from a clock radio...seriously, horrible quality for such a cool/rare track. It would have fit in perfectly on the "With Sympathy" album alongside of "Work For Love".

Hmph! :x

All I can say is if you love early Ministry, this box is amazing. Yes, it cost and arm and a leg and probably the other leg too but my gosh to hear some of the With Sympathy demos as the songs was intended to sound by Al is just flat out cool. The demos are not perfect and I don't think they were intended to be perfect. There's a lot of background of noise and the music sounds raw and un-produced or un-mastered (whatever you want to call it). Al talks here and there during the songs, the music sounds similar to With Sympathy but is actually quite different so it is very interesting. There are even several demo tracks that I have never heard of before that sounds like it could have been tracks for the follow up for With Sympathy if it would have happen. These songs are as good as any of the songs on With Sympathy. Let's face it folks, we will never get Al to go back and do that so let's live with what we have from here.

I have to admit, I felt a little bad the first few days of listening to this but as I went back and listened more carefully, I am loving this thing for what it is. By the way, the book is beautiful and has tons of pictures of Ministry during the early days. Furthermore, the vinyl cover is so cool looking. It looks like a record that was released in the 80's. I don't have my record player hooked up so I can't comment on the vinyl itself.

Is this box set brickwalled?
