I'll probably buy it from a third party seller on Amazon which will eventually be cheaper. Would like to hear the Directors Cut.

I got it just now. Nice packaging. Cd 1 is "the director's cut" of the album, as compiled on Feb 12th 1988 by Paul Morley, previously unreleased. Not sure if that entire album was included in the 3-CD set as I don't have that.

Is the "Director's Cut" on disc 1 a different mix of the album (or some of the original release's tracks), or is it just the sequencing of tracks compiled by Morley at the time?

It doesn't say in the liner notes. And I don't have the original to compare to right now, sorry.

hows the sound quality?

I haven't had time to listen to it, I'm in the middle of a book release. Plus, even if i did listen, I would probably Think it's pretty good,
I have never been able to discern any brickwall sounds that so many fans talk about. One man's poison is Another man's meat.
I find no mentioning of 2015 sound engineers etc. I did read ""Paul Morley's original album sequence" though, which may indicate
that it's only in a different order. But it's also some different tracks altogether.

It's just a mix of tracks from the 3 disc anthology which is fine if you never managed to get a copy of that at the time but not worth buying if you have it. I wouldn't worry about the sound quality every salvo/ztt release has been fine so far.

There's a couple of CD exclusives (for the UK, at least). For example, we've never had the 7" version of 'Winner '88' before. Also, three tracks are on CD1 are not even listed on the packaging...

Comparing the run times of the songs on the original cd to this compilation, it appears that "Chance" is a different version. The rest of the tracks, give or take a few seconds, match up. It's so very ZTT to give us something slightly different . I have the 3-disc set and could probably make my own "director's cut" album but will likely have to buy this anyway.
