Four box sets to be released on 10/23. Collections of post-punk faves The Motors, The Skids, Penetration, and The Ruts. Probably one of those things with minimal packaging, but should appeal to some folks here...

These are in clamshell boxes, with card wallets and a 20 page booklet.

No comments about Skids - Joy on CD for the first time? 100's about PWL and Bananarama but not a 6 CD Skids set. Ho hum. Me chuffed nonetheless.

Skids and Motors are no brainers. Done.

B'rama and PWL are no brainers in a different sense.

It's possible to like bands like this, and Bananarama, etc... music snobbery is so pathetic. How anyone can take pleasure from mocking someone else's tastes I don't know... does it make you feel better about yourself some how? Music is music! :roll:

Anyway, picked up the Penetration box set on Friday, nice set.

The Skids one seems to have been held up, no shop I've been into in Central London had one and Amazon didn't ship it on the supposed release date on Friday.

I was implicitly referring to the Brama singles set which is like a gazillion CDs with endless useless remixes. I have the right to think that's redick. Ditto the PWL singles set. I love early Bananarama but please. At this point in time I feel that CDs are a dead format. Absolutely R.I.P. I still love 'em, but the special edition explosion has gotten out of hand. I tend to buy selective re-releases, plus OOP CDs that aren't overpriced.

Just me.

Oh no, I've definitely seen The Skids one in Reflex Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, so it's "out there". Distribution always seems to go to pot as Christmas approaches - if it's back catalogue product, it's usually not a priority. :(

I'll ask in Reflex for you next time I'm in and make sure they did actually have it and that I wasn't imagining it! They did sell 10 copies via their eBay account;

...but I guess those could have been pre-orders or something.
