New Wave Outpost Forum

Coming Soon! Just received final clearance today from Universal for a long overdue deluxe edition of the beloved Visage debut album. This will be newly remastered from original tapes and will contain an 8 page booklet including single sleeves and release variations. There will be 17 tracks in total! More news to come as the project takes shape.

Scott @ Rubellan Remasters

Great News !

Excellent news Scott. I hope you get to remaster all three of their 80s albums as the Cherry Red ones were so so.

Great news! I am just surprised that Universal themselves were not interested!

I made this track listing long ago, with 18 tracks

Visage 3.53
Blocks on Blocks 4.00
The Dancer 3.40
Tar 3.32
Fade To Grey 4.00
Malpaso Man 4.14
Mind of a Toy 4.28
Moon over Moscow 4.00
Visa-Age 4.18
The Steps 3.14
We Move 4.00 (B-side Mind of a Toy)
Fade To Grey (Dance Mix) 6.41
Frequency 7 (3.05) (B-side Tar)
Mind of a Toy (Dance Mix) 5.14
We Move (Dance Mix) 6.28
Frequency 7 (Dance Mix) 5.02
Visage (Dance Mix) 6.01
Second Steps 5.26 (B-side Visage)

But I never bothered to calculate if they all fit onto one CD.

There is also more or less related:
Fade To Grey 6.14 [German extended edit]
In the Year 2525 (1978 demo)
The Eve of Destruction (1978 demo)
All the King's Horses (1978 demo)
Ronny: If You Want Me to Stay 4.17 (project 1981 single)
Ronny: If You Want Me to Stay (instrumental 12" B-side) 5.50
Ronny: If You Want Me to Stay (Dance Mix) 5.50

I am sure if you had access to the archives, you could easily fill two CDs.

PS mind the indexing, several tracks, as you know, bridge into each other
and on the official 10-track CD the indexing is off on some tracks.
(I made my own CD-R many years ago to avoid that annoying fact)

Best of luck/Jonas

I do have another Visage release in mind, it will depend on how well this one sells. I hope to get this one moving pretty quickly.

I think Ronny's stuff should be released separately with all her singles, remixes and b sides if it were to happen.

Wow! Rubellan, this IS good news for sure!

I have the 1997 One Way Records edition with the Dance Mix of Fade To Grey added to it. There's was still more than 33 minutes left for bonus material. Hopefully the sound is as good or better than that one.

Keeping my fingers crossed on this one

Awesome Scott. I actually would like to see the cover art be a slightly different variation to what we have always seen. Just think it would be kind of cool.

ready to buy! LMK please

Day one purchase for sure. Can't wait to hear this album, that I've known and loved for nearly 40 years done properly.

Have you heard any of Scott's previous mastering work? Best mastering engineer out there, in my opinion. It will sound incredible. I can't wait for this one!!!

I think his remaster of King's Bitter Sweet was a bit too loud but otherwise yes the masterings are good.

Loud ?? I think it was perfect. I wish somehow Scott got to do the King Remixes & Rarities cd instead of Cherry Red.

Fab news Scott - thank you for holding out for this and making it happen!!!!

The tracklisting is approximately 78 minutes and is as follows. Again, all newly remastered specifically for this release. Oh, and I did attempt to contact Rusty Egan to see if he would be interested in being involved. His response made it very clear he has absolutely no interest in participating:

1. Visage
2. Blocks on Blocks
3. The Dancer
4. Tar
5. Fade to Grey
6. Malpaso Man
7. Mind of a Toy
8. Moon Over Moscow
9. Visa-age
10. The Steps

Bonus Tracks:
11. We Move
12. Fade to Grey (Dance Mix)
13. Mind of a Toy (Dance Mix)
14. Visage (Dance Mix)
15. We Move (Dance Mix)
16. Frequency 7 (Dance Mix)
17. Second Steps
