The boxset is not what I expected it to be but looks good overall. I think it's missing several 7 inch versions although the reason could be because the album versions are the same. That 3CD set with rarities is a good option for people who already own all the albums, but the whole set is remastered (however that can be a negative in many trained ears).

Very impressed at the strictly bonus tracks package! I may actually buy that! But I can see several thing missing straight away:

• Live It Up [special disco mix]
• Call me [Spanish version]
• Call Me [instrumental]
• Call Me [12" version]
• Call Me [inst. 12" version]
• Atomic [7" mix]
• Heroes [live]

It looks like they went for archival stuff at the expense of released canon. Which I would say is the priority. But that's only me. Of the archives, I
m interested that most of it is from the early days. The first album vies with "Eat to The Beat" as my favorite.

Agree with our resident monk that the released cannon should be the priority. I believe I have much if not all of it from prior reissues/the singles box but would be nice if they put out a complete set prior to adding the archive material.

Everyone who has seen the photos of what constitutes the Blondie "archive" knows they are not the most organised band. Those of us who have been lucky enough to have a much closer inspection would say they've done an ok job with what they've got except for the absence of the live recordings they hold.

A few unreleased demos make this very interesting

I'm most impressed that they have CD and LP packages of the exact same 52 bonus tracks for those who already own the albums. Also impressed that no bundle has exclusive music. They all have the same music on them. This is very accommodating thinking of the kind we never see from most labels. How many times do we end up buying nth copies of albums for the bonus tracks and grumbling. Well, no grumbling this time. I also get the fact that live material was kept apart from this. Blondie were not a band that tore up the stage. I enjoy the "Picture This" CD but that's probably all I need in that regard. I'm definitely ordering the 3xCD, and happily!

And they still have their allotment to sell. Blondie's official store [$100 for the CD box - a great discount] is out. So it the Numero Group store [which is $150 for the CD $139.95 box]. Importcds.com is a fantastic dealer. I first bought from them for the "Vienna" and "Sign O'The Times" SDLX CD box. In fact, I saved enough on the latter title to get the "Vienna" box for free, essentially. I will always try to buy from them first if possible.
