Human League "Hysteria"

Human League "Hysteria"

Good news! According to the Ideal Copy, "Hysteria" by Human League is finally having a U.S. release with bonus tracks (Sept. 6)! I'm really happy about this, since I was this close to picking up the import of it this week, which would have had no bonus tracks. Here's more info on it:

While this is good news, any reason they didn't throw in the tracks from the Fascination EP not already on the album? I've been waiting FOREVER for You Remind Me Of Gold and that mix of I Love You Too Much and always figured they'd put them on a remastered Hysteria.[:(]

maybe we'll get them on "original mixes"- a brief overview of possibilities:

sound of the crowd (complete version, and instrumental)
hard times/love action
open your heart/non stop
don't you want me (extended dance)
mirror man (extended)
you remind me of gold (original and instrumental)
fascination (extended mix, "improvisation" mix)
total panic
the lebanon (extended and instrumental)
thirteen
life on your own (extended)
world tonight
the sign (extended remix)

now, 5 of the last 6 are covered on the new hysteria. and that rocks.
hard times and non stop are on the "dare" re-issue. fascination extended, improv and total panic were on a cd single years later, but impossible to find. why the "fascination" e.p. was never released on cd is beyond me. and there are single versions of some of those songs, those should be on cd too! one day...

Is the "Add You Voice" version of "The Sound Of The Crowd" the same as the instrumental version? I've never heard it, so I have no idea.

Will the new Hysteria be remastered?

I was fortunate enough to get a promotional disc (got it last week, actually, and I would have told you all about it then, but the site was having reply problems). I know I don't have as refined an ear as some of you, but I think the disc sounds terrific. I don't know if it's been remastered (it doesn't state it anywhere on my copy), but I think you all will be pleased with the result. It's nice to have this again; I forgot how good "The Lebanon" was, among some other tracks!

Thanks for the info, skinnytie. It'll be nice to finally hear the 12" of Life On Your Own without all the pops and crackles I have on my vinyl.

Yay!
