I just picked up Cherry Vanilla's Venus D'Vinyl from ebay for a couple of dollars. All in all a good lp - I've listened to the song "Amanda" about 30 times today!

Too bad she never got the attention she deserved.

Ollie, I enjoyed the Hazel O'Connor. I'm wondering if being able to connect the soundtrack with the movie makes you appreciate it better, but every track had something about it I liked.

Natephish had a nice haul - - my problem when I get a stack like that is I'm out buying another batch before I've ever sat and listened to all of them.

Wolverine, I got both of the Cherry Vanilla lps not too long ago - better than I expected. Looks like you did better on price than I did....
-by the way, I visit Syracuse sometimes and am dismayed to see the current state of used vinyl shops there - every time I visit they've lost another (Record Theatre on Erie the latest victim)- sad.

bpbd3 it's really awful here for vinyl - we used to have a shop on James St - the entire 2nd floor was vinyl - it was orgasmic...of course they up & disappeared one day.

I think there's only one store left for used stuff, and I hear they have next to nothing. I'm pretty much stuck to listening to samples here and at allmusic and checking on ebay.

I checked out Cherry Vanilla's website & saw she had both her lps remastered on one cd for only $10. I bought it - the record I bought turned out to be pretty beat up.

Back on topic - I recently found the Boy's Brigade lp for probably too much - but damn - Into the Flow is a great song! And, although Carolyne Mas probably isn't considered 100% New Wave I picked up her first lp in incredible condition. I love her song Sadie Says - nice power pop.

nice finds, rokkr - - I've never come across the Jolt lp, though I've looked for it; always grab releases from that 'neo-mod' genre when I find them.

If you're into the neo-mod and/or power pop sound you should track down the Power Pearls series of (not quite legitimate) records. The compiliers find really obscure singles from the late 70s/early80s and make full LPs out of them. Very similar to the punk reocrds in the Killed By Death series.

I've got 6 of the 14 volumes and there are some true gems to be found in those grooves.

Just picked up Bette Bright's Rhythm Breaks the Ice, and 3 Rachel Sweet lps. I Love Rachel's Protect the Innocent album - thought I'd give the others a spin. I also found a 12" of the Suburbs Music for Boys.
