phono pre-amps

I need to get one. To hook my turntable up to my computer. What would you recommend?

How far in price do you want to go?
Depending on the quality of your vinyl front-end, a PP-2 may be about as good as you need. They can be had for about $110, and they are an excellent value for the money.

Or if you're just experimenting and have even less demanding needs, just dig up your old stereo stack's preamp or combo tuner (ala Kenwood, Pioneer, etc) and hook it in through there. If you don't have one, they're probably ones to be had for $10-20 at an

I take the "record out" of my stereo and plug it into the line in of my soundcard. I've digitized many many pieces of vinyl this way and it sounds good to my ears.

I just bought one at Guitar Center for $50 and it's worked fine. It's worth being permanently on their mailing list.

I got a Pyle Pro PP-999 phono pre-amp and will get a Y adapter to plug into my soundcard... that seems to be all I need for [b]right now[/b] in order to listen to my turntable through my computer.
