I threw Men At Work in as a joke, just to see how many people would vote for them. Obvious omissions for The Church & INXS (my bad). Someone always gets left out. Split Enz are Kiwis, but hey, can't we all just get along? While we're on the subject, what are some other well-known New Zealand bands out there?

Add Dragon re. the Kiwi list.

In Australia.. bands such as Split Enz, Crowded House, Dragon, even Mi-Sex were / are all pretty much commonly accepted as 'Australian' bands, though the bulk of the members / origins for the bands are in NZ.

Some poeple are happy with this, some people are not... NZ have a bit of an identity crisis is some areas of pop-culture and sport unfortunately (for example the Australian National Basketball league includes a team from New Zealand (yes.. I know.. whats national about that?!) (also Russell Crow is from New Zealand amongst other accomplished actors... but normally overlooked in many parts of the world). If I was a lamb-pusher, I'd be a little miffed at the world [;)]

Can we also add The Dynamic Hypnotics and The Cockroaches to the Aussie Bands list? [;)] (Both of which I'd gladly trade with NZ for Mi-Sex and Split Enz)

hehe [:D]

No list of Kiwi bands is complete without mention of criminally unknown Able Tasmans. And no list of Australian artists should neglect The Lucksmiths.

Are any of the Australian bands mentioned so far from Tasmania? Is there a Hobart scene?

So NZ is to Australia what Canada is to the US?
