can we have another rooster of soulful vocalist of the new wave era
all of them are good singers w/ varied styles

Ricky Gervais of Seona Dancing
Iva Davies of Icehouse
Jimmy Sommervile of Bronski Beat
Sinjin of Pleasure Thieves (actually this band had only 1 album then they just disappeared during the last years of new wave before the onslaught of alternative music but it's an album worthy of every new wavers discriminating taste,"simple escape".....so long amigo's

I'm shocked to note the the absence of Talk Talk's Mark Hollis, and Blue Nile's Paul Buchanan. Some of the choices mentioned have more pop voices, or could be soulful on occasion. But for consistency, these two have my vote. I think David Sylvians new stuff like "Dead Bees On A Cake" are the epitome of soulful. Bono is a great one for soulful, note the "Love Is Blindness" track.

If I could buy my reasoning,
I would pay to lose

I gotta agree with a previous poster-Jimmy Sommerville had fantastic falsetto pipes-check out his backup work on Fine Young Cannibals cover of Suspicious Minds.

I voted for Midge, but I like Paul Carrack better.
