Trevor Herion

Postby Patrick » Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:20 am

I am starting a website about the life and works of possibly the most unknown artist of the 80's. The main problem with this endeavour is that next to nothing is known about the life and works of Trevor Herion!

I first heard of him through his work with Thomas Dolby and tracked down his one and only album, only to be shocked at it's utter brilliance.

Through extensive googling over the years all I've been able to discover is that, he was Irish, he was a bit eccentric, his career floundered, he was panned by the music press, lost his sanity and finally commited suicide shortly after turning 30.

So please, if anyone has anything they can say, any knowledge at all, even if you've heard some of his stuff and wish to comment on it, anything at all will help.

I've always liked Trevor's work, and I agree, another artist who just fell through the cracks.

Beauty Life is quite different from his earlier work with Dolby/Fallout Club, but excellent none the less.

Here's a song that's representative of Trevor's solo work:

Fallen Angel (Patrick has the picture of the 12" posted)

Good luck with the site Patrick.

I must say, I've been intrigued by this lost artist of the eighties and have been searching various hubs for his work, to no avail. Many thanks for posting this gem, Eight6 - incredible!

I'll try and get to the lp in the near future...it's on my list of things to do (but what isn't these days)

Wow. By the way, I love this song you did post. It's playing for the third time in a row now.

It is a good album, though I prefer his work with the Fallout Club. This is his single, Kiss of No Return, also from Beauty Life:

I would be eternally grateful if you could, I love the album, but although I do have a CD Recorder my record player has in-built speakers.
As for the site I spoke briefly with Thomas Dolby recently who confirmed that Trevor was "quite mad". I hope to get a full interview with him sometime in the future and I'm currently chasing up a few of his old bandmates to at least garner some info (place and date of birth, etc. would be a start).

In the mean time here's the 12" of Love Chains, Trevor's final single.

Again if anyone has anything they could add, pictures audio any info, opinions thoughts etc. I would be eternally grateful.

Some information on Trevor Herion

On "Kiss Of No Return" he sounds a bit like the lead singer of OMD
