It was pretty okay until 1988 when "commercial new wave" was dying down. After that, a lot of people started looking at me as if saying:
"Grow up, move on. You're getting left behind"

Maybe that's the reason why I feel I haven't really grown older since then.

Darwin, I agree. Age is a state of mind. I've always said when the music is too loud, you know you're old. It's not loud enough, yet!

Hi Drop Dead Gothic,
Sorry, I WILL e-mail you some Seattle photos when things get less crazy. I have posted some of them here in my old posts. I think I have found the market for my novel [:D]

In 1983 I looked like this
<img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/OllieStench/young%20Ollie/10thgrade.jpg" >

In 1985 I looked like this
<img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/OllieStench/young%20Ollie/mohawk1985.jpg">

In 1986 I looked like this
<img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/OllieStench/young%20Ollie/youngbeev.jpg">

Now I'm fat and old and bald and couldn't look like any of those pictures even if I wanted to, but I'm still living the life of a rock star
<img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/OllieStench/EGFC/rastabeev.jpg">

Back then if I saw "one of us" across the street and I didn't know him or her I would go and introduce myself and usually make a new friend. Times were much different back then and alot less cliquey and segregated.

I'm glad I came of age in the early 80's, I would not trade it for the world. And some 14 year old today is gonna say the same thing about 2006 in 20 years, and that's great.

Ollie, keep it real, man. It's all about values, and I never gave mine up, just because I got a little older. I learned a lot about what was really important, growing up in the scene. People are people, but music, music is emotion in motion.
