The club in my area closed in 2000. The people found other venues, but the crowds dwindled. Well, it's been quite a long time... we're not 20-something anymore. There have been a lot of reunions, but they're kind of sad... Rather than being focused on the music there are a bunch of people in their 50s lamenting their youth. I was never in with that crowd... I was only there for the music.

Hey Middlesex, good to hear from you again!
I can COMPLETELY empathize..

Seems that it would be an exercise in futility and utter public embarrassment to try and resurrect those clubbing daze of yore.
The last club I used to frequent with my wife closed back in the mid 90's and now with grade school kids underfoot, we'd be hard pressed to muster the time and energy to drag our middle aged arses out to a comparable nightspot to charleyhorse our way through busting some long outdated dance moves.. ::Sigh::

Interestingly the last time I returned to a club I used to frequent in my 20's was about 5 years ago, and I mistakenly thought there must've been some kind of party for 8th graders being held on the same night until I realized that those were all 21 year olds and I was old enough to be their father. I don't particularly feel middle aged but hanging out in a room full of annoying zygotes woke me up to reality.

My rule now is: I don't hang out at a place where the majority of the patrons could've been the product of my penis.
