I'm hooked on this youtube.com thing for numerous reasons.

Obviously to watch those '80s videos that I so fondly remember (and some I laughed at then and still love to laugh at now!).

Secondly, to see those vids I never saw back in the day, and I've certainly stumbled on quite a few thanks to many folks here and elsewhere.

Finally, because it's an easy way to make recommdendations to many of you. I don't have to upload music, you don't have to download and it's pretty much immediately up on your screen and playing...if you have a good connection. It also saves you time in doing these searches yourself! So, here are more fun things to enjoy:

ROBERT MARLOW/The Face of Dorian Gray

This is one of Vince 'Depeche Mode/Yazoo/Erasure' Clarke's oldest friends from Basildon. Vince produced the track as well as other songs from Marlow, finally released on CD around five years ago

THE ASSEMBLY/Never Never

Vince Clarke again, this time he's in the band with Eric Radcliffe and former Undertones vocalist Feargal Sharkey. This would have been a great band had they gone forward. Well, I guess Erasure did happen and that isn't all that bad.

IT'S IMMATERIAL
Three vids from this great Liverpool band. If anyone is familiar with the band Yachts, the vocalist for It's Immaterial was the original vocalist for Yachts' Stiff Records debut, 'Suffice To Say'. He left after that single and formed It's Immaterial. Later, former Yachts' keyboardist Henry Priestman ended up doing work with It's Immaterial before he left them to form The Christians!

THE CHRISTIANS
The band name was in reference to the band members' last name, not their religious outlook. Henry Priestman (formerly of Yachts and It's Immaterial) was the only non-Christian although his middle name is Christian! FYI: When Seal first arrived on the scene, he was oft referred to as a poor man's version of The Christians.

THE FARMERS BOYS
One of the real great and underappreciated '80s bands. FYI: When the Smiths' first singles were released, a few reviewers compared Morrissey's voice to the singer in the Farmers Boys. I don't hear it but you might?

THE EXPRESSION
Great Aussie pop. You've read the lengthy threads. Now, forget those and just enjoy the music!

FLASH AND THE PAN
The two main players were former members of Aussie '60s greats The Easybeats and one of them is the older brother of the two brothers in AC/DC

MONDO ROCK
Maybe a bit more commercial than some prefer, but Ross Wilson has a great voice and the songs are cool...

PAT WILSON/Bop Girl
Mondo Rock's Ross Wilson was Pat's husband and he wrote this and can be heard doing the low voice 'she's a bop girl' bit and singing backup. Also, watch out for Nicole Kidman in this vid

GRUPPO SPORTIVO
One of Holland's finest bands of the New Wave era...and they're still around. Almost everything by them is recommended!
