MODERN TALKING.....germany's top band ever....

Postby georgie rockwood » Tue Feb 27, 2007 2:30 am

modern talking is still the biggest selling artist/band in the history of german music.
modern talking is considered the typical euro/new wave band or are they pop....
modern talking was huge in every country in the world except for the u.s.(where they got no label support & the label couldnt figure out how to market them etc...)
whats your favorite modern talking song or album & why????
heres some videos from modern talking for you to enjoy....

wow an old "georgie rockwood" topic, sweeeeeeet [:D]

but if anyone cares...Thomas Anders (singer of Modern Talking) has just released an album with Uwe Fahrenkrog, keyboard player/writer from Nena...
very close to Modern Talking, maybe too close... but I think fans of light synthpop like Erasure might also enjoy

new single is Gigollo, very catchy Europop/synthpop

Not really, IM.

Besides, there were a lot of better bands from there, Pluta Connexion, Kraftwerk, Malaria! etc.

I actually really like the Thomas Anders/Uwe Kahrenkrog stuff. It will appeal to old school Modern Talking fans which I believe was their intention. Got the cd single already, the album is on its way to me. Looking forward to hearing it.

Modern Talking. Surely the most successful German band ever considering their sales, but on the other hand one reason to be ashame of being German [:I] Had they released only ONE album I would have said "okay, very nice" but with almost a dozen of repetitive albums: "thank you, but no thank you".

I think if you sound good and it sells, there's really no reason to change it. Sometimes bands try so hard to change their sounds and then you pick up their new album and you are really disappointed. The first 6 Modern Talking sounds really similar and they are my favorites from the band. They did try to come back in the 90's and they had a few cool tracks but if I want to listen to MT, I pull something out from their first 6 albums.
