I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW!

It's Teri Nun of Berlin!!!!!

I used to get a kick whenever I heard a New Wave Band like the Smiths or XTC on the radio. Now I hear them in the grocery store and in restaurants.

that's the answer I was looking for!
His work on the soundtrack for "The Last Emperor" earned him this distinction.
Feb 12 1912 (one hundred years ago) was the date of end of the Qing dynasty, as portrayed in "The Last Emperor".

Your collection of Debbie Gibson, Taco, Mister Mister, Loverboy and Paula Abdul will be arriving soon[:D][:p][:D]

did they win a Grammy for this? I didn't realize they had won an Oscar/Golden Globe, but this might be an additional correct answer!
Thanks for the info!

Now that we have the answer, I googled it. Prince did it too as did Ryuichi Sakamoto. I'm shocked that the latter wasn't the answer you were looking for.
