Hottest 80s male musicians

Postby Silvina Hernandez » Sat Nov 24, 2012 2:38 am

Sorry if it's been done before but I'd like you to talk about the hottest 80s male musicians. You can choose not just frontmen but also other musicians.
My favourite are:
Suggs from Madness: I've had a crush on him since the first time I saw him on TV 4 years ago. Well, actually he doesn't look that good now (he's a bit overweight) but he was soo cute in the 80s. I love seeing pictures of him on the net, especially the old ones (if you don't think about him the way I do, please search for them and you'll see I'm right). Does that make me obsessive?

Mike Joyce from The Smiths: I didn't know who he is until a few months ago when I came across an interview with him on Youtube. He doesn't look that good now (but at least he looks way better than Suggs)but in the 80s he was not just cute he was HOT (I'd have loved to have met him in the 80s and fuck him).

Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys: He was only 80s popstar who was dressed as a businnessman. That alone made him sexy. And I love the curly hair and the sad eyes. And he never smiled, which was also part of his appeal.

Paul Webb from Talk Talk: it wasn't until recently than I realised how cute he was. I've never heard him talk but he looks so cute (I love his facial features and his hair) and sweet on the TT videos I've seen.

Are you kidding me? He's probably the ugliest musician I've seen. He scares me.

Had I been female at the time, I think I would have found Ian McCulloch's pouty and moody visage rather attractive.

ha ha I got a good laugh, you just don't know Frau I guess [:D]

ok, on a serious note now, the obvious in the looks department would be Duran Duran members...or A-Ha members..Morten Harket?

I know it's not New Wave but more 80's pop, but how about members of band Go West...also Richard Darbyshire from band Living in a Box..and the very obvious is George Michael...

When did you make the switch? I did NOT get the memo.

Had I not been straight (at the time), I would have gone for Ben Orr.

PS If we're talking any 80s band, my man crush was Kip Winger!

No, I don't. But he does seem to have sense of humor.
I don't like the archetypical pretty boys so the DD and A-Ha memebers doesn't impress me much. Wait...Pal from A-Ha is kinda cute but he´s not one of the hottest, at least for me. And I don't understand why girls in the 80s had such a crush on Morten Harket. I'm into more masculine guys (Neil Tennant, altough he was gay, wore suits and had no make up on, that's why I like him).
I haven't seen many videos/pictures of them but the guys from Go West weren't that hot, IMHO.
I haven't seen any videos or pictures of the guy from Living In A Box so I've got to search for them so I can decide.
G Michael was/is kinda cute but he's not very masculine so I'm not into him.

It often seemed to me in the 80s that the best looking member of many bands was the drummer: Duran Duran, U2, Culture Club, etc., I think because they tended to be the least over-the-top looking (less makeup, more "masculine" haircuts).

But for me personally, 80s faves were Corey Hart, John Eddie, Midge Ure, Jean Beauvoir.

I forgot to mention:
Neil Finn. He was sweet and cute when he became a memeber of Split Enz (he was vey young then) but I think he looked even better in the early Crowded House period when he had his hair cut (I don't like the mullet he had in the late Split Enz period that much) and looked like an older man.
Bono. I think he was the only one who looked good with a mullet (don't ask me why) but then he screwed things up when he let his hair grow and started wearing earrrings.
Yeah, I agree with budaniel, Midge Ure was quite sexy (I like the mustache). But I don't agree with him about Larry Mullen jr- he looked so boyish (well, he was very young), not vey manly.

The ladies seem to like Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode quite a bit. I've heard him described as 'sex on legs'.
