Hoping this might spur some new discoveries from the catalogue of vinyl obscurity. Which bands do you enjoy most that only had a few singles or a mini-EP, never a full-length album, but for which you wish they had one. That is, which bands have too painfully short a tracklist?
For me the immediate ones are always
Box of Toys: two extremely strong singles, and Brian Atherton's later stuff as The Light can't help but leave me wanting more.
This Fear: Darkness Shapes Imagination is an excellent EP, the lead singer's vocals being the highlight.
Midnight Call: Enough tracks scraping around on various releases to imagine what a full album might have been, this is a terrific dark wave band.
Illustrated Man: Not quite a supergroup, but the EP was very solid.
Rapture of the Deep: Madame Nothing, Watching the Fireworks, and Waiting are all great from their EP.
Voice of America: Again, strong singles.
This Other Eden: Face of An Angel, Teach Me To Cry, a real audio treat.
