I have an old Star Hits article about him, and he said that it's pronounced Buh Loo-ee Sum.

I'm not 100% positive on my pronunciation of

- Ceta Javu

- Les Rita Mitsouko (despite years of French, I don't think I'll ever get this one right)

- a:Grumph

- Nitzer Ebb (is it NITTzer or NIGHTzer?)
[/quote]

That's so funny design...I was just thinking about Nitzer Ebb yesterday. I had always thought it was pronounced NIGHTzer Ebb but I've heard people say it both ways. I could swear when I saw them open up for DM in '90 they announced them as NIGHTzer Ebb but since that was 16 years ago, I'm not sure anymore!

About Pere Ubu...
Pere in French means father, although the spelling is père. As far as the pronunciation is concerned, I guess pair will be OK.
Ubu is another matter coz U is the most difficult vowel to pronounce in French. If U have ridden a donkey, u should know what to say: hue, hue! to make it move[:D] But anyway, I don't think Ubu should be pronounced the French way so the problem is solved.

Les Rita Mitsouko

The only problem could be "les" which in French means "the". The final s is silent like les misérables so the pronunciation is lay.
Mitsouko sounds Japanese to me so I go for Mit-sou-ko.

"Actually I DO want to know how to pronounce Belouis Some
Is it like "Be" or "Bell" | "Lou-is" or "Louie" or "lwa" and is it "Sum" or "So-mé"?
I don't really know how to say it, but I tend to go French with this one and say Bel-lwa So-mé"

If U want to go the French way, it's going to be Beuh-Loui (s is silent)some (as in English) When a French word ends with an e, just pronounce the last consonant, the e is silent.

Bolshoi

Well a literal pronunciation would give Bol-shwa but since the French are familiar with the Bolshoi Ballet, I don't think any of them would pronounce it this way...

How about Siouxsie and the Banshees? Personally I say sushi but I heard a female DJ saying sioux-sy[:D]

Lene Lovich

I used to mispronounce Lene as "Leen" (because it looks like Gene). People might also mispronounce her name as "Lanay Lovick". The correct pronounciation is "Layna Luvitch".
