i just stumbled upon my old cassettes and relistened to this band KOO DE TAH. Now, i almost forgot how i like the voice of the singer. She sounded like a school girl with all her uniforms on with matching pigtails. The song is TOO YOUNG.

Now, can anybody give me the name of this singer?

Thanks! [:D]

KOO DE TAH singer was Tina Cross. Best NW babe for me is Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons.

Kate Bush.
But I do adore Siouxsie, Debbie Harry, Kate Pierson and Chrissie Hynde.
I love Clare Grogan... she's such a good voice and her style is amazing. I love that pink skirt that she wears in the "I could be happy" video.

Grace Jones? Was she the actress who played MayDay in the James Bond film A View To A Kill. Or is she someone else? Pardon my ignorance. [:D][:D]

Grace Jones began as a disco singer in 1976 & had a few huge club hits, but no top 40 hits as I recall. When Disco was over, she began recording some new wavey-no-wave-minimalist-uncategorizable dance music produced by Sly & Robbie. She became much more popular & put out some great songs - Nipple to the Bottle, Warm Leatherette, My Jamaican Guy, Night Clubbing, etc. Mostly covers but with a cool twist. Check out her Island Life comp for a quick overview.

She didn't really change her image from the disco days - she was always waaaay out there.

(She also spent most of her pre-fame life here in Syracuse!)
