Isn't that funny...I'm not much of a fan of the group, but I do like "Maybe These Boys" a lot.

The Police's "Mother" is the only song of theirs so unbelievably bad, I have to skip it. It's ridiculous that "Murder by Numbers" was dropped from the "Synchronicity" LP in favor of that noise pollution, which was practically unworthy of even being a B-side.

The only 1 Duran Duran song that make me cringe always is from POP TRASH, The Sun Doesnt Shine Forever.[}:)]

Sorry . . . I just wanted to reiterate:

<B>Wham! WERE NOT NEW WAVE!!!!!!</B> They were about as New Wave as the New Kids on the Block.

My own list of New Wavey/Pop-Punky/Post Punky/Synthy/Whatevery songs that I really despised from artists I normally loved:

Siouxsie & the Banshees - "Kiss the For Me"
XTC - "Mayor of Simpleton"
Missing Persons - "Right Now"
Fad Gadget - "Love Parasite"
Eurythmics & Green Gartside from Scritti Politti - "Wrap It Up"
Bananarama - I guess everything after their second LP
OMD - "Forever Live and Die" . . . I'm with xxx on this too. There a several I suppose of their later stuff that I really dislike.

Thanks for taking the time to find the review. I did read it. The author, Ken Tucker, makes some valid points, and on the whole really hates the album. Oh, well... [|)]
Meanwhile, the review for Shake It Up says:

For the Cars' superb 1980 album. Panorama, Ric Ocasek wrote about feeling estranged from (and by) the big time, while the band went gung-ho progressive eclectic leap from the lean nonchalance of the first two Cars LPs toward (relative) sincerity.

On topic: Shoo Be Doo. Thank goodness it's short.

Good point. I forgot about Shoo Be Doo.

So what was so bad about " Shoo Be Doo " anyway ? If anything , I wished the song was longer .

Maybe that was it, It wasn't long enough...

Anyway by contrast, it made the rest of the album sound better.

"Panorama" by the Cars is one of my favorite albums by them! I pretty much lost interest during and after "Shake It Up", but there were some good tracks here and there ("Cruiser" is such a stand-out).

Anyway, I decided to list some songs from 5 of my favorite new wave bands that I could really do without (the songs, not the bands):

Blondie - "Sound-A-Sleep"
XTC - "The Somnambulist"
Squeeze - "Last Time Forever", "Black Coffee in Bed", the "Play" album
Boomtown Rats - "So Strange", "He Watches It All"
Siouxsie & the Banshees - "Cry", "Peek-A-Boo"

New Order - "Shame of the Nation" (not a big fan of the woo-hoo-ahhh-ahhh type of female backing vocals)

The Cure - "Friday I'm In Love" (I'm sorry! I'm sorry! But I find this song dull.)

U2 - just about anything off of Rattle and Hum. I think that album killed my love for them.

Not that I was a big fan of Human League, but I've always had a big respect for them. But "Human" is too deplorable for words.

The Cure-"Round and Round and Round."
This might be the worst song ever by anyone.

It's a bunch of studio tricks and electronic squeaks. It's just as grating to me as Merzbow.

<br>"Touch And Go" by The Cars. In fact, after their stellar debut album and the follow up "Candy-O", the whole Panorama album was a letdown.
