Hmmmm....Margaritaville is a fun place and the drinks are very good. It's at The Flamingo, which is not extremely far from the Stratosphere (but it's not exactly close). It's noisy inside, but the outside seating is nice and offers a decent view of the people wandering down the Strip.

Kahunaville at Treasure Island is a blast--last time I was there they played lots of Madonna and Prince and the whole atmosphere was fun--but it's very noisy.

I'm also partial to Planet Hollywood at Caeser's Palace. Pretty good food and not a ton of noise.

Off the Strip, you can find every restaurant in the world, from Chili's and Applebee's to Outback and beyond. All three of those have locations relatively close to the Strip.

Gimme some ideas! I'm easy--anywhere is fine with me. I'm still new enough here that I tend to gravitate toward touristy places (like Planet Hollywood), so I feel like I shouldn't be giving advice!

I've only been in the Stratosphere once, and only for a few minutes, so I'm not sure what's available.

I think Margaritaville or Kahunaville sound good. (Nothing is near the Strat--so don't worry if it's not near it--I intend to be out on the Strip at that time of day). I like the idea of outdoor seating and people-watching. The Flamingo area is a great location, pretty central.

Holy crap, Marie! A FEW?? What do you take us for--total lushes?

Ok, I suppose I'll be the one to have some drinks for you. I'm thinking that I'll be sucking those down at Margaritaville--where the noise does not dominate the conversation.

Soooo...are we meeting up Friday or Saturday drinks (and dinner, unless you want to see me run into walls after a sip or two).

And if y'all don't want to go to Margaritaville, just say so. I feel like forced it on everyone. [:I]

AND, about how many people should I make reservations for (whereever we decide to go). Many places out here won't take reservations, but it's worth a try. I hate it when I have to wait 40 minutes for a table, slowing starving to death ....

BMG -

Thank you ver much for the suggestions and offers to make reservations.

If you'd like to meet up Friday night for some chat & party pop, then we could do that. Or, if you'd prefer to wait for Blir, then we could meet at Margaritaville on Satuday. Or, we could do both. I've never been one to turn down an excuse to have a party.

BTW, Margaritaville sounds great: it would be nice to visit with each other, rather than compete with loud music.

I can't wait to see everyone, but personally, I'll be in a better position to hang out on Saturday. After I get off work tomorrow, pick up the youngest young'un from daycare, go home, feed the masses ..... my evening will pretty much be shot. I thought Mr. BMG was going to be around to help, but he has to work late, too.

But, it's up to y'all. If you guys want to meet Friday, that's fine. I might be late to the party, but I'll be there. Eventually. [:D]
