Do you like Yazoo?

I am just getting in to Yazoo and have their album 'Upstairs at Eric's'- I really quite like it.
Couple of questions I hope someone can answer:
* Did they do anything else worthwhile?
* Would you consider them New Romantics?

Yazoo!! they are a great band, you should check out their 12" remixes, they do great remixes on all of their songs that i own (3), also check out their other album "You And Me Both" the song Nobody's Diary Rock!!

I love Yazoo. The 2 albums are a must. I recently downloaded some live concerts of theirs, awesome. What's your favourite Yazoo songs? I'd go for "Situation", "In my room" and "Don't go".

There was always a bit of confusion about the name of the band. Here in the States they were known as Yaz, while on the other side of the pond they were Yazoo. Whatever the name, they made quintessential New Wave - a must for every col

Vince Clarke can do no wrong (some of his singers are a different story!).
"Only You" is the perfect blend of bubbly synths and emotive vocals.
As for the remixes, I on whole don't like remixes, so I can't recommend it personally.

I got the "Don't Go" Mixes on vinyl the other day. I wish I could listen to it, but I don't have record player. I need to get one, as I got alot of Eurythmics yesterday on vinyl aswell. I got a great 1983 poster in one of them too. Fabulous!

Yaz is awsome. If you like Yaz, consider other materials related to them...
Alison Moyet's solo work (she was the vocalist in Yaz)
Also Vince Clarke (keybaords)'s other projects:
He was in Depeche Mode before Yaz, and Erasure after Yaz.

I would consider them borderline New Romantics but definitely New Wave. Upstairs at Erics is a quintessential must for any New Wave lover. It personifies the period to a "T". My favourite song is Goodbye 70's. This album reminds me so much of ABC's Lexic
