God I love this lp. I know time-wise it's getting away from the strict new wave genre ('85 release date), but this is really one of my favorite mid-80's releases. I keep going back to it and just can't believe how good a songwriter this guy was. His voice is great, and Thomas Dolby's production is great. Easily one of my "Top 5" lp releases (do I sense a new thread here Dave?)

It's a mellow, subdued listen but believe me you'll be rewarded. My favorite tracks?? I like them all, but..

And try listening to 'Desire As' when going through a serious break-up (as I was at the time) and you'll know how music can rip your heart right out of your body and feed it back to you.

Prefab Sprout are one of the most criminally unknown bands ever. (North America Division) "Two Wheels Good" especially improves with each listen, starting out seemingly simple and growing more melodically complex over time. I'm also a sucker for breath

My favourite tracks by the 'Sprouts are from the early pre-Swoon days when they had a more simpler sound, such as the singles, 'Lions in my own garden', Radio love' and the wonderful 'Walk on'

Appetite, Cars And Girls, The Sound Of Crying, If You Don't Love Me and When Love Breaks Down are my favorites from Prefab. Every thing I've ever heard from them is great. My guilty pleasure of the moment is their song Wild Horses.

Oh yeah, 'Wild Horses' is incredible, as is 'We Let the Stars Go'. Anyone who's ever liked this group should hear 'Jordan the Comeback'

Yes, hail to the Sprouts! My favorite of theirs is undoubtedly Swoon as it's the one I listen to start-to-finish the most often. Since everyone seems to be fond of High Fidelity-style Top Five lists, here are my favorite Sprout songs:

1. Cars And Gir

Great band, great music. "Two Wheels Good" is just an amazing study in melancholy. "Bonny," "Appetite," "Horsin' Around" (great lyrics on that one), and "Moving the River" are favorites of mine. Many others on their other works.
