OK. I have to ask.
Do you prefer the old style electronic performances with backing tapes or the new style ones with "real" instruments?

Spoken like a true diehard - well done! [^] Great sig by the way [;)]

But if you HAD to CHOOSE.....what would it be? There's no "both" option in the poll.

Electronic music (the 70's pop versions - Kraftwerk/ Human League/ Depeche) were in a way a delibrate reaction against the standard 'Rock' format, so going with that logic, I would say that the original pure electronic format was the more honest performance. That being said --I love a good guitar rock out. I have also seen the most 'punk rock' performance in my life happen at Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, and Drum and Bass clubs where there wasnt a guitar around for miles.
old style electronic performances with backing tapes
Having pre-recorded music is kinda lame in my book, but for me the experience of a Depeche Mode concert was always about the gathering of like minded music fans.
