I'd pretty firmly label them as 90's Brit Pop.

If you like Suede you should definetly listen to the Tears, the new project of Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler, who was also once the member of this group. The album is called "Here comes the Tears".So if you like Brit pop give it a try.

Definitely not New Wave. They're everything that makes BritPop good.

Glamy/Brit pop, however, Coming Up & Head Music and A New Morning include more keyboard/electronics than previous efforts.

May I recommend their 1994 release "Dog Man Star" to those who want a good intro to the band. It's very close to a 5 star release.

I love their music, but I'd recommend Head Music and maybe their self-titled debut over Dog Man Star (that sounds more like an album fans would seek out after hearing the other two). Head Music was all about those fantastic singles and b-sides.

"Electricity"
"Everything Will Flow"
"She's In Fashion"
"Can't Get Enough"
"Head Music"
"Hi-Fi"
"Leaving" (their best song - EVAR!)
"Seascape"
"Crackhead"
"Since You Went Away"

Surprisingly, this album was cut sans Butler, but it's excellent.

Funny, Head Music is my least favorite. And I'm a huge fan. Even have all their singles. I do love "Everything Will Flow" and "She's In Fashion" as singles. I guess if you like singles, their greatest hit's would be the place too start.

Definitely one of the best bands of the 90's; and one of the UK bands that truly did live up to the hype. Highly recommend "Coming Up" and the debut. Though for a newcomer, the greatest hits thing is perfect. They were a great singles band.

Oh... Suede... the kings of nocturnal decadence.

Not New Wave... but one of the BEST bands among the Brit Pop genre.

The Tears is also cool.. but different. [;)][:)]

Exactly. Those b-sides are pretty fuckin schweet[8D] I think only Depeche Mode made me wanna track down as many b-sides as possible. High quality stuff. I'd think that if you like Suede, you will also like the Swedish band, Kent[8D]

i am a huge Suede fan. They definitely have new wave elements; had they been around 15 years earlier, they would be new wave.

they have some incredible b-sides. I really think a new morning was an underrated record.
