Misheard lyrics?

Postby Trappedinthe80s » Wed Jun 21, 2006 3:29 am

I know it's been done before...

I was just listening to Running up that Hill by Kate Bush, and even though I knew it couldn't be accurate, I would alway hear the lyrics, instead of...

"Unaware, tearing you asunder..."

I would hear

"Underwear, tearing me asunder..."

Underwear drama is not usually what one thinks of when listening to Kate....

"When I see your sticky ass lips"
Should be "When I see you sticky as lips"
--"High"-The Cure

Bwaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha [:D]

Glittering: I used to think that re the 'don't change' lyrics myself when I was younger (and I call myself an Australian!!) [;)]

Why is it the first mondogrene that pops into my mind is "Alex The Seal" instead of 'Our Lips are Sealed'. Was this just a widely known one in Australia, or other parts of the world as well?

Misheard as, "Oh, my genitals."

I'm a Janitor by the Suburban Lawns.

How about mine? "Hold My Genitals." Which is even sweeter. Mind you, after careful sonic inspection, I've come to the conclusion that the lead singer is actually alternating "janitor" and "genitals." Kind of like those stupid Burger King "Big Buckin' Chicken" commercials.

First few dozen times I heard "I Am the Beat" by The Look, I thought the chorus went, "I'm Andy Mound, I am the beat." I was telling all my buddies about this song about some guy named Andy Mound who makes all the girls dance just for him. It wasn't until I got the album that I realized it was, "I'm in demand." Ah... well, that makes more sense.

The Jam "Down In The Tubestation At Midnight"

I thought (until a few years ago )
"I fumble for change - and pull out the Queen
Smiling, beguiling"

was

""I fumble for change - and pull out the Queen
Smiling, Big Eileen"

OMG, it WASN'T "genitals"? [:I]I completely forgot about this song!

I always thought the song "C'est Impossible" by the Catholic Girls was "Celibacy."
