New to this site so not sure if this has been tackled but I (and I'm sure others) would love to be veered to new artists that might have slipped past our radar. I'm thinking include a recommendation of a rarer artist (with sounds like...) that you think peopel should listen to.

Personally, I love the Shoes and 20/20 and would love to find a power-pop band with a bit of new-wavey influences to dig into. Basically, power-pop looking toward the future if you will.

Have you given a listen to Flaming Mussolinis? I think the 4 songs I posted there are still up at the MP3 trading section of this board.

They rock!

By the way, what happens when you're no longer new to this site? If you switch to olddave7, you're gonna be "running up that hill" again.

Hi Dave,

You can sample all of these modern "Power Pop" bands at iTunes:
[b]
Enemies Like This- Radio 4

Caroline- Radio 4

Can't Look Down- ZOX

Hide Away- Rock Kills Kid (This song has a guitar riff that reminds me of "Yellow Pills")

Go Cry- Pitty Sing

A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody- The Lashes

Sometimes the Sun- The Lashes

Hard to Beat- Hard-FI

Unsatisfied- Nine Black Alps

Is It Any Wonder?- Keane

For some older power pop - check out the Reducers, Jack Lee/the Nerves, the Neighborhoods, and Any Trouble.

There have been a few power pop related threads here. If you do a search of the boards, you'll find some awesome recommendations!

I recommend VERY highly the UK band The Rifles. This is great stuff!!

If I could buy my reasoning,
