Anyone else here a fan of the band TRIO?
I'm actually a fan of the band and the solo recordings by vocalist Stephan Remmler..
I am just not sure if anyone else has really investigated their albums like I have!
I don't have all the Remmler albums on CD but I'm working on it...

I also love Trio. I have their album Trio and Error, which is bad, though. I haven't heard it in over 15 years, so I should probably revisit it.
Could you post a link to where I could buy some of their CDs, besides that Best Of that came out after the VW ads? Googling Trio comes up with a billion hits!!!
I would really like to hear some more of their old stuff. I would also be interested in hearing the solo stuff you mentioned.
Thanks!

The album "Trio And Error" was a 'best of' their first two German albums, although the songs were the English language versions. Most of the tracks came from their 2nd album, "Bye Bye", with a few replaced by songs from the first album ("Trio"), one of which was 'Da Da Da'.
The CD you mention is actually "Trio And Error" with a few extra trax!
Anyway, the first album is very raw and 'minimalist', with 'Da Da Da' being one of the more 'produced' songs on the album (if you can believe that). It's really good and contains some real classics like 'Broken Hearts For You And Me', 'Nasty', 'Danger Is' and more. Most of it is in German, but there are some tracks in English. THis album was reissued a few years ago in a 'deluxe' 2CD set with demos and other odds and ends.
The 2nd album continued in a similar vein to 'Da Da Da' with a bit more production but still very basic and melodic. The album contains the German-language versions of most songs that appeared on "Trio And Error".
THeir third album, 'What's The Password' is NOT a great record, although it contains some great songs. There's definitely more keyboards and more full production but the album is not their best.
After that, it was over for Trio. Remmler's solo albums have not been consistent but they do contain some real gems. And stylistically, he's all over the map. He's got a new one coming this month, too!

I have their first two and the last mentioned "best of" always loved these guys for their minimalism and humor, don't have any solos though. Any good? I remember a couple videos for Anna and daa daa daa. One video had them in a cornfield wandering around and hacking at the stalks with a guitar? ring any bells? I always compared their humor and apearance although at a much later date with the wolfgang press.

The only other video I remember had a ghost town/western theme. I believe it was "Boom Boom."
"Da Da Da" is not a bad song for what it is, but if you've heard one Trio track...

Hey Brad
Sorry.
I was being skinned alive in another forum.
anyway, almost everything is deleted now.
You can probably buy their first album (although not the best) on CD but Bye Bye and What's The Password go for top dollar on Ebay.
I just put together my own Trio comp that came out quite well. It's got a lot of the stuff from the U.S. CD but also stuff from the import only titles as well. I might be able to post a song or two in another forum if there is something you want to hear....
