Greatest Album that's "of a single piece"?

Not necessarily your favorite new wave album.

Not the necessarily the best new wave album.

What is that one great new wave album where almost every song on it is great, and they seem to be fashioned as if from a single piece or theme or style so that they go just perfectly together. You know that that album's songs really couldn't or shouldn't belong on any other album. What would be your one, single choice? I have my ideas but am interested if some of the same get mentioned here.

Definitely a few I would have mentioned as well ("few" being the operative word...PANO!). Cars, Chameleons, The Jesus...all up there.

But I'm gonna propose Roxy Music's Avalon. That is one tight piece of music.

Agreed. It would be hard to top that one for seamlessness.

Not quite new wave, more like late 80's college rock, but the Connells's "Boylan Heights" is such a seamlesslly terrific listen from start to finish that it's hard to think of it even having individual songs. Egg-roger is another fan of this album. He'll back me up.
