Seeking information of the band D-Day

Postby DevoManiac101 » Sun Jul 09, 2006 9:38 am

Something that has puzzled me for years, but I finally remembered to post [:D]

"To Young To Date" that is featured on the JCGE volume 1 CD

I can't find a full length album or EP with that song on it, I have looked everywhere, but I do have a LP from 1983 titled D-Day "D-Day" is this the same band? I am really confused? Does anyone here have the full length with the song "To Young To Date" on it?

Ditto. I'm hugely interested. Devo, does that album have a track called "Right to Know"? Hoping maybe some Austinites can help.

"Right To Know" is not on that album, but from the looks of the site it was released on a 7" single and the mystery seems to be solved - the band never had an official first album, just released two 7" singles one in 1979 and the other in 1982, the 1982 7" features "Right To Know" and there is an mp3 sample download available on the site, thanks for the site! cool info

Blir gave me an mp3 of "Right to Know" last year. I hadn't heard it before.

Their two singles with the pic sleeves were just on ePay a few days back. They were released on the same label (Moment) as fellow Austin resident, The Pool (Patrick S. Keel).

I think the album has two great tracks in "Desperation" and "Dance It Off," but they should have ditched some of the rest to include the previous A-sides. Well, I guess there could have been some legal issue that prevented them from being on it...
