New Wave Outpost Forum

Was there any before? I was just thinking If It would be possible to have a NEW WAVE OUTPOST CONVENTION where members around the world could meet personally and have a good time and share thoughts and insights about the GENRE. We could meet THE PRESIDENT himself SIR MIKE PAULSEN and the moderators. What do you think guys?[;)]

That's a lovely thought, but can you imagine all the planning that would need to go into pulling an event like that off? It would be a headache of massive proportions. But if someone is good enough of a planner/doer to pull something like this off, it would be amazing. Wouldn't it be great if it were all about the music and having a great time listening to tunes while doing fun, getting to know you type stuff? And if I ever got a chance to meet Mike Paulsen, I would hug him for putting up this site and for getting me into some of the groups I adore, e.g. Scars, Endgames, Trees, and Modern Eon. But yeah, all that planning. Baby steps first?

Nice idea ... we've had a few gatherings here in the States of which I was able to attend one in New York last December. Feel free to suggest some places or ideas, everyone.

If I wasn't so preoccupied these days with other things like home repairs & improvements, I'd honestly be frequenting the board more often.[:(] I feel guilty that I've been neglecting the site and board for the past couple months, but I shall return in a more prominent capacity. We've got a formidable amount of collective knowledge here on the board that's staggering at times!

Wow, an NWO world convention...
as MikeP just said, we've had some smaller (regional) gatherings. That may likely be as "organized" as we can get.
However, there sure are a ton of Filipinos representin' here...soon the time will be ripe for "yous guys" to meet up!

YUP MIKE!It would be a great and memorable CONVENTION![;)] NEW WAVE ICONS could be invited and even NEW WAVE ACTS who would be available could be even invited to perform LIVE. A sort of concert within the CONVENTION time. Members would be allowed to have booths for their own NEW WAVE MEMORABILIA for exhibit, trades, or even for sale of materials.[:)][:)][:)] An available screen with the use of WEB CAM could also be used for NWO members who could not be on the site but would love to get involve.[:D] Well, It's just a thought from me?[8D] Maybe who knows? So if held in Southern Kalifornia (as Schwatzeneggar sez it!), could/would the Fillopinos come to the Konvention then??? [?]

I used to be the tech guru behind the NAMM shows and helped put on the one-time only Skratchcon turntablist convention. If anyone really wants to put together a "New Wave"/NWO convention, I'd be happy to put in the time. I've got great connections at the Anaheim, LA, and Nashville convention centers, as well as at Moscone Center in San Francisco. MikeP?

PS - Not knowing what happened with Kimiii, would she be allowed to attend?

PSS - It would be nice to be able to have something happen when one of the current New Wave retro tours came around. We'd be able to do the convention bit by day and see a show at night without having to book a venue, pay a band, etc.

If it's well-organized, then it would be a BLAST!![;)]

Hey TragicMagic we can have our own NWO convention.Get all the Aussies together hire a scout hall a keg or two of beer.

Instead of live bands we can have the countdown DVD playing continuously until it bore's us to tears and then we can just crawl home. [xx(]

Can you imagine all 3 or 5 of us..lol [:D]
