New Wave Outpost Forum

Hey folks, I thought we could share what self compilations we have made based upon reading threads, downloading obscure mp3s here at NWO, listening to Internet radio stations, blogs, etc., etc.

Since joining here at the NWO, I've been turned onto some new bands I didn't even know existed (and for the most part, neither does the world), except for the members here at the NWO... I appreciate all the shares... I look forward to discovering new gems here daily, ot tidbit of information I didn't know, and gosh darn it, my memories of the late '70s and '80s are coming back to me: gigs I went to and forgot about, albums I bought and haven't listened to in years (some more that 25 years ago, etc., etc.)!

So to spare you anymore raving and ranting on and on, I thought I would be FUN to share what we have collectively made/burned on our computers for our ears lately, and especially if you got inspired by threads posted here at the NWO. OK, with all that said, here are some that I've made based on NWO postings, enjoy and share, and we can all burn CD-Rs like these, or close to the track listings as posted. I'm sure some great jams and gems will turn your ears on!

Thanks for reading and posting! [:D] _Gerald

I don't actually burn CDs anymore, but I gotta say I love your compiliations. Power pop is underrepresented here. Maybe we could hang out at the mall together, or something. [8D]

Thanks for the positive comments plagiarism! I know many folks don't burn CDs anymore... I'm refusing to buy an i-POD, or mp3 player for the car, and just have a bunch of burned CDs on the front seat, and tend to just listen to the same songs over and over (repeat, repeat)... as for the mall(s)--I tend to stay away from them at this point in my life. I'm thinking of making an early 80's/new wave compilation of Spanish bands or bands that sang in Spanish... could you recommend me some Argentinian ones?

Surely, I could... i think you may like the following:

Virus
Don Cornelio y la zona
Los siete delfines
Fricción
Los fabulosos cadillacs (remember that version of Strawberry Fields Forever with debbie harry?)
Los prisioneros (they are from chile, all the previous are from Arg)
