Are you asking about new wave synth bands with guitar? Andy in OMD always played the bass, never a synth.

Songs with guitar as main instrument:
OMD - "The New Stone Age" and "The Beginning And The End" has guitar in it! [:p]

Every Popwer Pop band has a guitar player, and sometimes two players!
