The only song I knew by them back in the day was "Primitive Painters", which I rediscovered recently. I've been listening to their compilation "Absolute Classic Masterpieces". Solid all the way through. The speak-singing reminds me of Lou Reed, the guitar work a bit of Johnny Marr and the overall feel somewhat like Lloyd Cole. I'll have to check out some of their albums now.

Primitive Painters would be in my Top 10 favorites all time. Great song!

Scramjet, that is an excellent synopsis of the music.

'My face is on fire' and "All the People I Like Are Those That Are Dead are some of my faves. Forever Breathes the Lonely Word is also a great place to start...
