Silly "family" takes on NW songs?

OK, tell me I'm not alone here . . .
This sorta goes back to when I was a kid. My dad would listen to CCR and we'd beg him to play what we called the "Tamborines & Elephants" song--in reality, "Looking out My Back Door." We had a whole bunch of lyrics we made up for it.
So Mr. Hex has a couple variations on NW songs that he sings to our cats:
"Felis Domesticus," to the tune of Pete Shelley's "Homosapien"
"The Cats of Brixton." This one warps the Clash's lyrics as follows: "When they kick down your front door/How you gonna come?/With your tail in the air/Or your nose stuck up your bum?" and so on.

Anyone?

Probaby not exactly what you were asking for, but in the OMD song "Secret" (actual lyrics below from the OMD web site) -- My girlfriend (and her girl friends) in 1988 would sing "you come fuck me" instead of "You comfort me..."
http://www.omd.uk.com/songwords/html/secret.html
"Everyday you're always there
You comfort me and make me feel it's worth my while "

hexicon, you are far more clever than I could hope to be. All I do is play NW while giving my dog her baths. She likes The Comsat Angels and The Sound (good doggie), doesn't like The Cure or Depeche Mode (I guess she's not very "goth"), and tends to get antsy when I play Spandau Ballet (aw man, bad doggie). Duran Duran is a case by case thing, as is the Human League, but she does appear to behave better with Talk Talk and David Sylvian.

I used to sing The Clashs Lost in a Supermarket to my son when he was a year old as I would walk up and down aisles in the grocery store. He thought it was pretty funny but, then again, any time I was acting like an idiot he thought it was pretty funny. I'm not creative enough to change the lyrics....that's my husband's job. Any song that comes on the radio, he change the lyrics to something very silly and it will make my son and I laugh.

<p align="justify">"Thundercat Rock, Thundercat Rock" instead of "Rock The Casbah, Rock The Casbah." I've been singing that since the I first saw the Thundercats[8D]

Not new wave but on Saturdays when Mrs. Scram is out doing errands and the kids start getting hungry in the middle of the day and I'm hastily spreading PB & J on the whole wheat bread I occasionally belt out an altered version of the old Bad Company song:
"Feel like makin' lunch
(Duh-dut-DUH! Duh-dut-DUH!)
Feel like makin' lunch
(Duh-dut-DUH! Duh-dut-DUH!)
Feel like makin' lunch for you-oo-oo!"
It's very important to sing the power chords with proper emphasis. The kids, of course, just think I'm strange.

At the risk of looking like a total idiot... about the only individual in my house who enjoys my singing is the dog. Sometimes on Mondays when we take the garbage out I'll sing (to the tune of Kool & the Gangs Ladies Night,) "Oh yes it's Garbage Night & the feeling's right...for garbage night...Oh what a night!"
Our all time favorite is that song from a couple years ago, from Nine Days "This is the story of a girl..." Which I sing "this is the story of a pooch, who got a bone & then a big smooch & he looks so tough & he barks real rough & I absolutely love him!"
Wow, I am truly a dork...

Great topic hexicon, and some funny answers.
I have to think about this one and see if I have anything as clever as all of you.

My brother in law and I used to sing INXS's "Suicide Blonde" with the lyrics "Soup and Salad Bar". "We got some chic-ken...soup and salad bar. Go back for se-conds...soup and salad bar."
That would drive my sister nuts.
Yep, we's dorks.

In "I Could Be Happy", Clare sings
"Or go to Skye on holidee.
I could be happy, I could be happy."
Well, only in Scotland would "holiday" and "happy" rhyme, and this drives my son nuts. So, we sing it
"Or go to Skye on holiday.
I could be hap-pay, I could be hap-pay."
So there. Issue resolved. Or not. It doesn't matter, we're bonding. [:)]
I change the words to songs all the time, but they're usually one-offs, and I can't think of any right now. [xx(]

As a kid, I thought "My Sharona" sounded like "Rice-A-Roni". Don't know why.
And I'd often hum "Queen Of Hearts" as "Queen Of Farts".

I worked in a home improvement center in college, and we had a fictional group "Frankie Lasagna and the Leftovers" that did parodies involving the store, including...
"Fight For Your Right For a (Clean) Breakroom" (Beastie Boys)
"We Ain't Got What You Need" (INXS)
and a montage of our favorite store catch phrases set to New Order's "Confusion."
