Everybody's done them at some time, some more successful than others, some completely reimagined. Just pulling a few off the top of my head, which is your favorite?

How about Robert Palmer doing Gary Numan's " I dream of Wires"?

Talking Heads- Take Me To The River
Lords Of The New Church- Let's Live For Today
The Bangles- Hazy Shade Of Winter
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Higher Ground
Bow Wow Wow- I Want Candy

I voted for The Clash, as it's a great hard driving re-make, the original dosn't have the same gusto/impact. [:)] Also Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy rocks as well! Thanks DJ-Craig for mention. [:D]

I gave my vote to Dear Prudence. Lola is also one of my favourites, covered by the Raincoats.

I voted for Dear Prudence but almost went with Ziggy Stardust. Another great cover was Paint It Black by the Dickies

Does "Tainted Love" count as a remake? Of the choices, I opted for "Dear Prudence".

I also like Joan Jett's cover of "Roadrunner".

As for the poll, I had a hard time choosing between "Satisfaction" and "Tears of a Clown", but went with the English Beat as a sentimental favorite.

I went for UB40

My all-time favourite 80s cover song has to be "Sunshine Reggae / La Vie en Rose" by Nancy Martinez and Allen Harris [8D]
