Mute - Depeche Mode, Fad Gadget, Yazoo, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds... One of the earliest UK labels to move things forward.

Some Bizzare - Soft Cell, Psychic TV's first two albums (The first having a cameo by Marc Almond), the projects of Jim Thirwell.

Rough Trade - More important for traditional Indie than New Wave, true. For New Wave History, it had The Smiths, some works by The Fall, and Aztec Camera's first album among others. It also had the Smiths-sponsored comeback of Sandie Shaw.

Slash - The Germs, Gun Club, X

Hardcore Mention: Alternative Tentacles - The Dead Kennedys, the compilations that introduced Hardcore to the world including one British release.

Hardcore Mention 2: Dischord - Minor Threat. Another label important to Hardcore history.

RIOR Tapes - For those who were looking for some interesting choices, released on cassette, this was one to look for. Suicide, Nico, The Fleshtones, Bad Brains, The Germs' Live At the Whisky, Flipper, and Einstürzende Neubautem were in it's history.

4AD - Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, Modern English (Their first three albums), The Birthday Party, Bauhaus' In a Flat Field. Among their more recent releases is Scott Walker's The Drift.

Minor Threat was on Dischord. Touch & Go's roster included the excellent Big Black.
