The year I became interested in music.

"My Sharona" - the Knack
"Let's Go" - the Cars
"Is She Really Going Out with Him?" - Joe Jackson

And since this is a Georgie thread, I'll give a shout out to David Naughton's "Makin' It" and John Stewart's "Gold". [:p]

HAHAHAHA! Makin' It', this time in life I'm makin it. And contrary to popular beliefs there really are people out there turning music into gold. [:p][:p]

there were some fine tunes from 1979:

The Atlantics - One Last Night
Comsat Angels - Red Planet
Cowboys International - Thrash
Joy Division - Novelty
The Monochrome Set - The Monochrome Set (I Presume)
and of course
Undertones - Teenage Kicks
just to name a few of the 7,542 great songs to be released that year.

but, I will succumb to the power of Georgie and go with either
McFadden & Whitehead - Ain't No Stopping Us Now
Raydio - You Can't Change That

It's too hard to pick just one of them.
