Your favorite scenes from a movie using a 80s song

I have no idea if the topic has been discussed before, if so I apologize. I would like to limit the topic to movies released after the 80s though so personally heres my top 5

1. Boogie Nights - Sister Christian used during the whole botching of a drug deal gone wrong where Mark Walberg stares off into space and realizing how low he has fallen. Alfred Molino coked up was priceless

2. Donnie Darko - I really love the whole "Head Over Heels" montage scene during the morning scene in the movie. They almost filmed that montage in a similiar fashion as the TFF Head Over Heels video

3. Zoolander - They were able to use a crappy song like Wake Me Up Before You Go and turned it into the funniest scene in a movie.Ordering Orangefrapacino, while some male models are riding a Jeep and getting into gasoline fights

Ron Burgundy: I saw that. Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident.
Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

Yes, I can't freakin believe I forgot about this. That whole movie is just surreal, and that scene sells it, literally, I bought the movie because of that scene.

Side note, Craig Wasson looks WAAAAAY too much like Bill Mahr, like everytime I see that movie I'm like "why did they cast Bill Mahr in this?"
The beginning of Donnie Darko where he wakes up in the mountains, picks up his bike and rides to the tune of "The Killing Moon". Sets up the mood perfectly for the rest of the movie. The tune was replaced inexplicably for the director's cut [:(!]
[/quote]

I know! The Director's Cut is inferior to the regular version of the film, in my opinion. Problem is, I only own the Director's Cut...

For me, it can't get more 80s than when the humming stanza of "I melt with you" plays in "Valleygirl" while Tommy rides down the escalor - smitten by Julie...

The Special's Ghost Town was also used in Shaun of the Dead, some good music references in that movie - I particularly liked the part when they were throwing records from someone's album collection at the zombie who was coming after them and making comments on each album before they were thrown...

Been a while since I watched that one.

Another good one was the remake of of Dawn of the Dead from 2004 directed by Zack Snyder. There were only a couple of 80's connections: People Who Died by Jim Carroll and Don't Worry Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin, but so many of the songs used were songs like Eric Carmen's All By Myself, and covers What The World Needs Now Is Love and You Light Up My Life were great.

How much does this give away about my taste in movies? [8D]

Found the scene from Shaun of the Dead on imdb:

[looking through Shaun's LPs for suitable records to throw at two approaching zombies]
Ed: 'Purple Rain'?
Shaun: No.
Ed: 'Sign o' the Times'?
Shaun: Definitely not.
Ed: The 'Batman' soundtrack?
Shaun: Throw it.
Ed: 'Dire Straits'?
Shaun: Throw it.
Ed: Ooh, 'Stone Roses'.
Shaun: Um, No.
Ed: 'Second Coming'.
Shaun: I like it!
Ed: Ahhh! 'Sade'.
Shaun: Yeah, but that's Liz's!
Ed: Yeah, but she did dump you.
Shaun: Oh!

Didn't remember the Prince references I seem to recall the Blue Monday single being in that scene somehow too...
Just saw another one tonight. Will Ferrel's Stranger Than Fiction has this scene on the bus where he's reading the story of himself - which is really a story of all the little things that go on around us - to the FREAKING AWESOME accompaniment of The Jam's "That's Entertainment, which of course was itself about a slice of life going on around them!

Why can I not remember this movie, the scene, or even this post?! [:0][B)]

ok Freud, you got me all figured out...
now back to the real topic

2 other recent movies filled to the brim with 80's culture and plenty of music... both comedies are:

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)... very funny and fun flick...
Take Me Home Tonight (2011) - not as funny as the above, but nice and full of 80's hits and culture in general

another movie to mention is Adventureland (2009)...
James Brennan: [Falco's Rock Me Amadeus song is played once again at the amusement park] Jesus Fucking Christ! They play this song like 20 times a day!
Joel: Fucking sadists. Fucking sadists!

and of course American Psycho which I quote in my profile... Patrick Bateman talking about and listening to Phil Collins/Genesis right before he bangs the 2 prostitutes to the sound of Sussudio [:D]
