Mainstream Rock Acts That Tried Going "New Wave"

I remember between about 1978 and 1980, New Wave was considered by many to be the next big thing and a number of established, mainstream rock artists tried to jump on the "new wave bandwagon". One single that comes to mind was Hall & Oates "No Brain No Pain", which sounded almost Devo-ish. Then there was Paul McCartney's "Temporary Secretary". Also, there was definitely some Sex Pistols influence in the guitar playing on The Rolling Stones' "Shattered". And The Kinks "Father Christmas" certainly had a very punkish feel, not to mention the new wave vibe of "National Health". Can anybody think of any others?

I know there are related threads buried here somewhere but the site search engine for some reason didn't pull up any.
Here are some groups and solo projects that IMO incorporated distinct NW musical production stylings typical of the day, (synths, percussion, vocals, etc..) :
Genesis - 'Mama'
J. Geils Band - 'Come Back', 'Flamethrower'
Pete Townshend - 'Face Dances'
Planet P Project - 'Why Me'
Queen - 'Radio Ga Ga'
Roger Glover - 'The Mask'
Roger Waters -'Radio Waves'
The Moody Blues - 'Gemini Dream'
Yes - 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart'
ZZ Top - 'TV Dinners'

Well I wouldn't exactly call them 'mainstream' but RUSH did take on a new-wave influence in the '80s from what I've heard. I prefer their '70s and more recent stuff because it's heavier and that suits them i think. Although they did do some good songs in the '80s too.

Lindsey Buckingham - Go Insane
I'm a fan of Fleetwood Mac, but I think this is probably the closest any member of the band ever came to New Wave.

There was a similar thread like this a few months back.
BLUE OYSTER CULT - "Mirrors"
BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST plays with it a bit on "Eyes of the Universe"
ELO - "Time"
Although it pre-dated the New Wave explosion, I would highly recommend HAWKWIND - "Quark, Strangeness, and Charm" from '77.
