It called Beautiful Friction. First single is "Anyone Else." I like it!

Wow! I reluctantly started listening to sound samples expecting it to be a mid-tempo bore. While there is some of that going on, I was surprised to hear a lot of up tempo hooks. I think I will likely purchase this! I still think 'Shuttered Room' and 'Reach The Beach' are nearly flawless albums, but they were very spotty after that.

Looking forward to hearing it, agree with Rubellan about Shuttered Room and Reach The Beach. I have seen them several times live and they never disappointed. Thanks for the heads up rewind!

So they're touring now. Worst timing possible! They'll now likely play a bunch of new shit I don't know. [:(]

I dunno. Seen them several times in the last decade and they have always been good about playing their classics. Unlike, say Mike Score, who has come to hate his old music, Cy has always had a sense of humor about it.

At one concert I saw as the intro to "One thing leads to another" started, he said to the crowd, "you know, I love this song. It pays the rent"[:D]

I think he says that at EVERY gig.

I saw them play a few weeks ago, and they were good! Cy's voice hasn't aged a bit. The band members (all original line-up, if I'm not mistaken) look a lot older, sorta like the Cars. Nonetheless, I'm glad I checked them out.

[/quote]Yes, he does say this at every gig. "It's like finding a ten pound-note in your jean pocket."

I saw them live about the time the left MCA and they did a whole bunch of new songs from a non existent album. I'm not sure if they were tracks from Calm Animals or not.

Calm Animals is probably my third favorite album by the Fixx. Their last couple of albums were pretty good I must say.

Their album Ink was probably their best and most consistant album in years, since Phantoms.
