you think they would have called it quits when Michael Hutchence died in the late 90s!
he was not only the face but the voice!

After a few very good albums, they became Australia's latter-decade version of Duran Duran.
I read the autobiography 'Story to Story' earlier this year, and I can't recall much of any lasting substance to the band's career. They all seemed very bitter about the public backlash that set in once the glow of their blockbuster albums faded-- as though they had earned a level of unparalleled fame that should have lasted far longer. I was hoping to learn something redeeming about Michael Hutchence, but the descriptions provided by his bandmates painted him as the self-indulgent asshole I feared he'd be.
Compare the Nile Rodgers wanna-be riffs of the following songs:

I agree - should have stopped inxs (as 'inxs' at least) after Michaels death.
Individual projects, re-invention as another band - sure - talented Musicians should stay in the industry.. but in many peoples eyes, inc mine, MH _WAS_ inxs. I really did stop actively listening to them, following them / buyign albums post MH.
In any case - thank you for the music INXS - much appreciated!

Oh Sh*t. Another great band that disappears! I know that INXS without Hutchence is like Queen without Freddie Mercury. Nevertheless their last album "Switch" was a good one, especially the single "Afterglow".
