Post-punk bands I'd like?

I really like early U2, the Smiths, Chameleons UK and especially The The. What are some similar groups I'd like?

Hmmm... based on your list I’d try some early albums by the Church and also the Sound.

Be thankful that with YouTube you can sample pretty much anything. I bought so many albums back in the day based on magazine reviews or interesting cover art.

Definitely check out a German band called Short Romans.

Also, if you like U2, you might enjoy This Picture.

If you especially like The The, you'd probably enjoy Shriekback and Happyhead as well.

Try Orange Juice or early 10,000 Maniacs for the Smiths; Spiral of Silence, Lowlife, Interpol, Stone Roses, early Cure, Joy Division, The Feelies first album, Felt, Theater of Hate, Lives of Angels.

Oh also House of Love -- 'Christine' especially; REM Chronic Town EP, possibly Pylon.
